I have watched this silence happen to my daughter-in-law in public spaces and attended a workshop recently where we were even while we were muted we wer instructed to keep silence on 'that troubled place that divides opinion' (I left). I'm appalled to see this silence creeping into the Society of Authors in the UK... So much to think about here -- thank you
